Chancellor Scholz initiates a three-day sojourn in Central Asia.
Germany's Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) embarks on a three-day journey to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan starting on Sunday. Kicking off in Samarkand, Scholz plans to interact with Uzbekistan's political elite. As per a rumor spread by Funke Media Group, Scholz seeks to seal a migration agreement with Central Asia's gem, which may pave the way for expulsion proceedings directed towards Afghanistan, managing them through Uzbekistan.
Moving on to Monday, Scholz will shift his focus to Kazakhstan, where he'll partake in one-on-one discussions and partake in a summit of the big five Central Asian leaders on Tuesday. Besides Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the roster includes Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
