CDU in Hesse wants to hold coalition negotiations with SPD
As the winner of the state elections, the Hessian CDU wants to enter into coalition negotiations with the SPD. This was reported to the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden on Friday. Until now, the CDU and the Greens have governed together in Hesse for around a decade.
The SPD, being the potential coalition partner, has been approached by the victorious CDU in Hesse for negotiations following the state elections. This coalition, if successful, would mark a shift in power from the current CDU-Green coalition that has ruled Hesse for approximately ten years.
