Status at the beginning of vacation - Cautionary notice for vacation start - affecting Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as well

For the upcoming school holiday begin in five federal states, the ADAC warns of traffic jams on many roads this coming weekend. Apart from Bayern and Baden-Wuertemberg, all federal states will be on summer holidays, according to the ADAC Hansa. In MV and Schleswig-Holstein, the last school day is on Friday, while in Hamburg it is already on Wednesday. Berlin and Brandenburg are also starting their holidays.

Construction sites on A20 and A24

On the ADAC list of congested bottlenecks, there is a construction site on the A20 near Kroepelin. "Furthermore, the federal and state roads in the coastal region are heavily affected by the increased traffic volume," predicts the automobile club. Autofahrers will particularly need a lot of patience on Friday afternoon and Saturday.

Further construction sites in the northeast have the potential to cause annoyance to holidaymakers. Thus, there are three construction sites on the A24 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, as the Federal Autobahn Agency announced. Between the interchanges Hagenow and Woebbelin, two bridges will be built from July 2 to August 3. At the interchange Zarrentin, renovation work will run until November 1. From August 21, roadworks are announced on the A20 between the interchanges Tessin and Bad Suelze in both directions.

  1. Despite the upcoming vacation start in five federal states, including Baden-Württemberg, the ADAC advises cautious driving due to anticipated traffic jams.
  2. In Baden-Württemberg, travelers might enjoy their weekend getaway, but they should be aware of potential traffic issues on roads like A20 and A24.
  3. Meanwhile, in Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, where the vacation start is this Friday for most students, construction sites on A20 and A24 could cause additional delays.
  4. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the A24 construction sites are between Hagenow and Woebbelin, Tessin and Bad Suelze, and Zarrentin, causing disruptions until late August and November.
  5. In Berlin and Brandenburg, which also have a vacation start this weekend, holidaymakers might face congestion due to increased traffic, but they can enjoy exploring cities like Berlin or Potsdam.
  6. Even if Munich's German team, FC Bayern, is not directly affected by the vacation start, visitors can still enjoy the city's attractions while remaining vigilant regarding potential traffic in Hamburg and other cities.
