- Casualties and Injuries in Ukraine following Russian Assaults
Russian aerial and artillery assaults on Ukrainian soil have resulted in numerous civilian casualties and injuries, as claimed by official sources. In Saporizhzhia, after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Monday evening visit, shells struck and killed two individuals. One of the deceased was an 8-year-old boy, as announced by regional governor Ivan Fedorov on Telegram. The structure also sustained damage. Zelenskyy interacted with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof in the combat-ridden city.
In the significant city of Dnipro, a man lost his life and six people were hurt due to rocket fire, as per local officials. Reports emerged of a power substation hit in the region. In the northeastern Sumy region, Russian aerial assaults and artillery bombardments impacted multiple sites since Monday, injuring three people. The Sumy region, which shares a border with Russia, is a vital logistics route for Ukrainian troops in their offensive against the Russian region of Kursk.
Ukraine brings down Russian drones
Ukraine's air force reported the bringing down of 27 out of 35 approaching Russian combat drones of Iranian manufacture during the night. Ukraine has been defending against a Russian invasion for two and a half years.
The European Union expresses its condolences and stands in solidarity with Ukraine over the civilian casualties and destruction caused by the Russian attacks. The European Union is considering imposing further sanctions on Russia in response to their continued aggression.
