A 35-year-old man died in a car accident on Bundesstraße 249 between the Mühlhäusen district of Eigenrieden and the Südeichsfeld district of Katharinenberg (Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis). A 39-year-old woman, who was also in the car, was seriously injured, according to the police control center.
The car came off the road at an unclear cause on Saturday afternoon in a curve and overturned, landing on its roof. The woman was thrown from the vehicle, according to reports. Firefighters extracted the man from the footwell of the car. It was initially unclear who was driving the car. The police estimated the damage at 24,000 Euro.
The accident occurred on a Federal road in the Unstrut-Hainich-District, specifically between Mühlhausen and Katharinenberg in the Thuringia state. Ms. Wagner from the police control center confirmed two individuals involved, including a 35-year-old man who tragically lost his life and a 39-year-old woman who sustained serious injuries. The car accident resulted in significant damage, estimated at around 24,000 Euros, and involved an Automatic vehicle in the traffic.
