Eyewitness accounts from the press reported multiple cars crashing alongside each other while heading towards a campaign event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Governor of Minnesota continued his speech to supporters in Milwaukee without any delays post the accident, assuring everyone that while a few individuals had endured minor injuries, everyone else was safe and sound. He expressed his gratitude towards the security personnel and emergency services for their swift response following the unfortunate incident. Both Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and U.S. President Joe Biden made contact with Walz shortly afterwards, checking on his well-being. The reason behind the accident, however, remained unclear for the moment.
The accident caused temporary disruptions and resulted in minor injuries for a few journalists and a campaign staff member. Despite this incident, Walz's motorcade managed to avoid any damage.
