Accident - Car hits pedelec rider - life-threatening injuries
An 86-year-old Pedelec rider was hit by a car and seriously injured in the Oldenburg district. The cyclist had wanted to cross the road in Harpstedt on Monday evening and failed to notice the approaching vehicle, according to the police.
Despite an evasive maneuver, the car struck the cyclist. The car then collided with a tree. The 34-year-old driver sustained light injuries and was taken to a hospital. The 86-year-old was airlifted to a hospital.
