Cellle - Car crashes into tree - two people die
At a serious car accident in Celle, two people have died. The car is said to have driven off the road to the left, according to the first findings of investigators, a police spokeswoman said.
The car drove off the road a short time after a bend, hit a tree, and two people died. A woman was so severely injured that she died at the scene of the accident. The man who was driving the car died in a hospital. A six-year-old girl, who was also in the car, was reportedly lightly injured. She was taken to a clinic as well.
Why the car left the road was still unclear. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, the police added. The federal highway 214 between Altencelle and the community of Eicklingen was closed for the duration of the accident investigation.
The accident occurred in the town of Celle, located in Lower Saxony. Ms. Schmidt, a spokeswoman for the police, provided initial information about the incident. The six-year-old child, a passenger in the car, was luckily only lightly injured and was taken to a local clinic for treatment. Automatic emergency responders were also called to the scene due to multiple accidents occurring in the area's traffic.
