In a car accident in the Landkreis Osnabrück, a woman was fatally injured. According to a police spokesperson, the 87-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle in Bohmte on Bundesstraße 51 and collided with a tree.
Other traffic participants were reportedly not involved. His 85-year-old passenger died at the scene.
The driver was seriously injured and taken to a hospital by helicopter, but was not in critical condition according to reports.
The Bundesstraße was closed for several hours due to the accident investigation. A detour was set up.
