2022 - The EU Parliament condemns Russia as a state supporter of terrorism. In addition, the European Parliament wants the EU to create a terror list for states such as Russia in order to punish them more severely.
2021 - A coach overturns on the highway near the Bulgarian capital Sofia at night and catches fire. At least 46 passengers die, including twelve children.
2003 - Georgia's President Eduard Shevardnadze resigns after a three-week power struggle. Opposition supporters had previously stormed the parliament building in Tbilisi in protest against falsifications in the parliamentary elections.
1998 - Deutsche Bank announces the acquisition of the American investment house Bankers Trust. The purchase for around 17 billion German marks makes it the world's largest financial services provider at the time, displacing Citigroup USA and the major Swiss bank UBS.

1973 - A six-month strike by air traffic controllers ends in Germany. Around 47,000 flights have been canceled since May because the tower and radar personnel, who were still civil servants at the time, were "working to rule". The strike is considered one of the most costly labor disputes in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany.
