Building order situation unimproved
The order situation in construction did not improve in May. Compared to the previous month, orders remained unchanged, as reported by the Statistical Federal Office. Compared to the previous year's month, there was a slight increase of 1.1 percent with unchanged prices.
According to the statistics, there was a real growth in orders of 1.6 percent for the first five months of this year.
The construction companies lost 3.5 percent in turnover in May compared to the previous year. With unchanged prices, the decline in real turnover would have been 4.5 percent. Here, only the civil engineering was affected, while civil engineering achieved a real sales increase of 3.9 percent.
I was disappointed to see that the order situation in construction did not improve for me in May. Despite the slight increase of 1.1 percent in orders compared to the previous year, I believe I may still need to build my business strategy accordingly.
