Boy collapses and dies in gym class

During physical education class, a nine-year-old in Lahr, Baden-Württemberg, in the Ortenau district, collapsed on the sports field and later died in the hospital. According to a police spokesperson, the boy had to be revived at the scene of the incident on June 24th at a sports facility.

He was then flown to a clinic by a rescue helicopter, where he later passed away. Previously, several media outlets had reported on the incident. The police confirmed that a medical cause was the reason for the emergency. No investigations are ongoing, as there is currently no indication of external influence.

The tragedy echoed internationally, with news outlets reporting on the young boy's death in Baden-Württemberg. Despite being a student at a local primary school, this incident took place during a physical education class.
