Olympia 2024 - Bomb threat paralyzes Basel-Mulhouse Airport

At the French-Swiss airport Basel-Mulhouse, a bomb alarm has been reported. The French police confirmed this report from news agency AFP. The airport has been evacuated, according to the operator.

Terminal "evacuated for security reasons"

On the day of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the terminal was evacuated and closed "for security reasons".

French security forces are on high alert due to various sabotage acts on the railways and the Paris opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in the evening, where around a hundred heads of state and governments were expected.

Despite the bomb alarm at Basel-Mulhouse airport, the Olympic Games in Olympia began as scheduled. However, a bomb scare also led to the temporary closure of a terminal during the opening ceremony, causing disruptions.
