Body washed up on the Rhine in Baden-Württemberg

Tragic Accident in Baden-Württemberg: Six people swept away in a tributary of the Rhine. Four rescued, a teenager and a woman missing. A body found.

A body has been washed up on the banks of the Rhine near the German-Swiss border. It is believed to be that of a 15-year-old girl who went missing on Sunday following an accident, according to police in Göppingen.

On Sunday, six people were swept away in the tributary of the Rhine near Hohentengen in the Waldshut district. Four were rescued by family members, but the 15-year-old and a 29-year-old woman were missing.

During a joint search operation by German and Swiss emergency services, the body was discovered. While the identity has not been confirmed, it is believed to be that of the missing teenager. The search will continue in the coming days.

Investigations suggest that the group had ventured too far into the water, causing the six people to lose their footing on the steep bank and be swept away by the current. All were non-swimmers.

The identity of the individual discovered on the Rhine banks is yet to be officially confirmed, but it is strongly suspected to be the missing 15-year-old girl from the tragic incident. Regrettably, the body found matches the description of the teenager who went missing following the accident.
