A body was discovered in a burnt car near Nordhausen at the weekend. The first results of the investigation are now available.

Nordhausen - Body in burned car - no evidence of crime

After discovering a corpse in a burnt-out car near Nordhausen, the police do not suspect a crime. In the course of the investigations, it could be determined, according to the police, that the person died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Therefore, there are no indications of external influence. A spokesperson indicated that the investigations pointed to suicide. The corpse was discovered on a country road on Sunday morning in the vehicle.

The initial suspicion of a crime was subsequently dismissed by the police. Despite the incident occurring in Thuringia's Nordhausen, there was no indication of criminal activity involving a car. The police believe the unfortunate incident was a case of suicide over the weekend.
