At a blood crime scene at a Volkshochschule in Wedel near Hamburg, a 67-year-old teacher was seriously injured. According to the police, he was stabbed in the school's parking lot. Two suspects were reportedly arrested after a short manhunt. They are said to be brothers. Both were born around 2002 and 2003. The motives for the crime were initially unclear.

It is assumed that the victim and the perpetrators knew each other, the police spokesperson said. This is a term used by the police when the parties involved are known to each other. He would not exclude or confirm that the suspects were students.

The victim was taken to the hospital early in the afternoon after the incident. Hours after the incident, the man was still in critical condition according to the police.

The police assume that the perpetrators intended to kill their victim. The motive was initially unknown. Initially, up to three suspects were being hunted. However, it now appears that there were only two suspects, the spokesperson said. The murder commission is to take over the investigation.

The police were heavily involved. A helicopter from the Hamburg Police was also called in to support the search from the air. After the incident, police officers secured the school building to search for the suspects.
