Amidst speculations about a possible withdrawal of Joe Biden from the US Presidency race, the Democrat has announced more campaign rally plans for the coming week. "I am looking forward to getting back on the campaign trail next week," read a written statement from the US President, who is seeking a second term in office in the November election.

Biden had to pause his campaign appearances due to a Coronavirus infection. Currently, he is isolating himself at his private home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

The 81-year-old is under immense pressure within his own party due to his age and doubts about his mental fitness. Every day, more and more Democrats are calling on their colleague to withdraw from the race. Recently, media reports have suggested that Biden might consider doing so.

The first row of Democrats are reportedly trying to push Biden towards a withdrawal behind the scenes. Vice President Kamala Harris has been increasingly in the spotlight as a potential replacement.

Publicly, the US President has so far rigorously rejected all withdrawal demands from within his own ranks. In his statement, he looked towards the further campaign, stating that he wanted to continue warning the people of the country about the danger of his Republican opponent Donald Trump's politics and at the same time campaign for his own vision for the country. "There's a lot at stake," he urged. "Together, we will win."
