The White House initially remained silent on Biden's new time management. A Biden campaign aide argued that Biden was not only preparing for the debate in the week following his two European trips but also spending many hours on official work. "President George W. Bush went to bed at 9, and President Barack Obama made dinner at 6:30," said Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz to the broadcaster. "Normal presidents find a balance, and Joe Biden does too."
