One thing seems certain: Donald Trump and his supporters are not in a position to run a low-key election campaign.

Biden and Trump establish stipulations for televised debate encounter

In May, the incumbent US-President Joe Biden and his potential rival Donald Trump have set terms for two TV discussions amidst their approaching campaign. The initial meeting is set for June 27th, void of spectators and with rigid regulations for microphones to uphold a civil interaction.

As per CNN, Joe Biden and Donald Trump have agreed upon the regulations for their inaugural TV debate by the end of the month. The discussion is predicted to run for 90 minutes. Two moderators will be assigned, but there will be no studio spectators.

"Both contenders have consented to show up on a platform," CNN notes. "The placement of their platforms will be determined by a coin flip." Additionally, it has been agreed that only the microphone of the current speaker will be activated at a time. The microphone of the other will be silenced during that moment.

Intense Task for the Moderators

The contenders are claimed to only receive a pen, a piece of paper, and a bottle of water throughout the 90-minute debate, which is being recorded in Atlanta, Georgia. There will be two commercial breaks during which the staff of Biden and Trump cannot contact them.

"Certain elements of the debate - such as the absence of a studio audience - will differ from past debates," CNN explains. The moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will "employ all the tools at their disposal to control timing and maintain a civil exchange."

Biden and Trump have agreed to host two television discussions. The first one occurs on CNN on June 27th, and the second one on ABC on September 10th.

Nomination a Formality

Although Biden and Trump have not officially been endorsed as the presidential nominees of their respective parties for the November 5th election yet, their nomination is considered a formality. Trump won the Republican primaries by a landslide, although they are not yet concluded. Biden, who is 81 years old, faces little competition in the ongoing Democratic primaries.

The Republican Party officially selects its presidential candidate at a convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in mid-July. The Democratic National Convention takes place in Chicago, Illinois, in August. Prior to the 2020 election, which Trump lost to Biden, they also held two TV discussions. During these encounters, they frequently disrupted each other.

The first TV debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump in the US presidential election 2024 is expected to follow strict rules, including only one active microphone at a time. Despite the rigorous regulations, tensions between the two candidates during the debate are anticipated due to their history of disruptions.

The US presidential election 2024 debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden will see the former president and the incumbent making their case on a neutral platform, as decided by a coin toss, with minimal props such as a pen, paper, and water. The debate will be moderated by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, who will aim to maintain a civil discourse amidst the intense political rivalry.
