Biden allegedly thinks about withdrawal from ["]

Does Joe Biden face a new opponent or adversary in the election campaign? Multiple media outlets report that US President Biden is now considering withdrawing from the race for a second term. Behind the scenes, leading Democrats are said to have recently urged him to do so.

According to media reports, US President Joe Biden is no longer categorically ruling out a withdrawal from the race for a second term in the face of immense pressure from within his own party. The "New York Times" reported, citing several sources close to the Democrat, that the 81-year-old seems to be gradually accepting that he may have to abandon his campaign.

He has reportedly begun "grappling with the idea that he might not be able to win in November and may have to step down to appease the growing demands of many concerned members of his party," the newspaper wrote. However, Biden has not yet made a decision.

Publicly, the President has so far rejected all withdrawal demands from within his party. His campaign team continues to insist that he has no intention of dropping out. However, the internal pressure on him has once again reached unprecedented levels. Leading politicians such as Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are said to have warned him against holding on to his candidacy.

One of Biden's close associates told the "New York Times" that it would be no surprise if Biden soon announced his withdrawal and endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic presidential candidate for the November election.

Pelosi: Biden can be "convinced" soon

The "Washington Post" also reported, citing three congressional representatives who are in regular contact with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, that Pelosi has told several party friends that she believes Biden can be convinced to withdraw soon. Pelosi, a close confidant of Biden, had previously acted as a go-between between the concerned Democratic base and the White House.

Biden is facing a party rebellion due to his advanced age and doubts about his mental fitness. Since a disastrous television debate against Trump at the end of June, various Democratic representatives have openly called for him to step down from the presidential race. Many others have expressed serious concerns about his chances of winning.

Even prominent Democrats have recently made public statements to that effect. Behind the scenes, the Democratic Party's top echelon is now putting pressure on Biden to withdraw, as US media reported recently. The President had to postpone his campaign schedule yesterday due to a coronavirus infection. He is currently isolating himself at his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Despite the ongoing public denials from Biden's campaign, various media outlets suggest that prominent Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, are urging Biden to reconsider his decision to run for the US Presidency Election 2024. With growing concerns about his age and fitness, Joe Biden might need to consider the demands of his party to ensure the Democrats' success in the election.
