Airport - BER expects passenger rush around the EM-Finale

The Berlin-Brandenburg Airport is preparing for the EURO Final in the capital with a large passenger rush expected. Approximately 250,000 passengers are anticipated to arrive at or depart from BER during the EURO Final from today until Monday.

About 94,000 passengers are expected to arrive at the BER on Monday alone, the airport announced. "The weekend with the EURO Final is roughly comparable to travel days at the start or end of summer or autumn holidays or on public holidays," a spokesperson said.

Around 50 charter planes have been registered for the finale, expecting around 10,000 fans. Most of these flights come from Spain and England - fittingly, for the two football teams in the final. "Such flights are organized especially for fans by football associations or organizers," the airport shared.

The airport advises passengers to prepare well for their flight due to the large rush and to make use of the digital offerings at BER. Passengers can, for instance, book a security check appointment in advance at the capital airport.

The upcoming Football European Championship final in Berlin is causing a significant increase in air traffic at the Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (BER). With around 250,000 passengers predicted to move through BER from today until Monday, it's shaping up to be a busy period.

BER anticipates approximately 94,000 passengers to arrive on Monday itself, reflecting an intensity similar to major travel days during summer or autumn holidays or public holidays.

In addition, around 50 charter planes are scheduled for the final match, which is expected to bring around 10,000 soccer fans to Berlin. A majority of these flights are originating from Spain and England, reflecting the two participating teams.

The Berlin-Brandenburg Airport recommends that passengers plan ahead and make full use of the digital services offered at the terminal. For instance, passengers can pre-book a security check appointment to ensure a smoother experience.

Unfortunately, the air traffic disruptions might impact other flights departing from or arriving at the Schönefeld Airport. Travelers are advised to monitor their flight status closely.

Despite the challenges, the excitement surrounding the EURO Final at the European Championship is palpable, with fans from around Europe setting their sights on Berlin Airport (BER) for the much-anticipated soccer spectacle.
