Beijing and other northern regions in China experience extreme heat warning.

In the northern part of China, including Beijing, a heat warning has been issued for this coming Tuesday. The Beijing Meteorological Bureau estimates that temperatures will climb up to 37°C in certain areas. This warrants an orange alert status in the capital city until Thursday.

The intense heat is expected to continue in the northern and eastern regions of China, according to the authorities. The port city near Beijing, Tianjin, as well as the provinces of Hebei in the north and Shandong in the east are highly affected. Authentic reports suggest that Shandong could experience temperature spikes of 42°C, necessitating a red alert classification.

On the other hand, southern China is forecasted to encounter heavy rainfall, primarily impacting the mountainous regions of Guizhou Province and the border provinces of Yunnan with Myanmar and Laos.

While severe heat before the onset of summer is not a rarity in China, particularly in the dry western and southern regions, the country has lately grappled with extreme weather conditions and unprecedented heat.

Scientists attribute these extreme weather occurrences to climate change, which heightens the occurrence and vigor of such events. As China stands as the world's largest greenhouse gas emitter, the nation is substantially contributing to the aggravation of global warming.
