Training start - Bayern start with performance diagnostics in pre-season preparation

On the day after the EURO Finale, FC Bayern officially begins preparation for the new season. Today and Tuesday, new coach Vincent Kompany has scheduled performance diagnoses and other fitness tests at the German football record champions. The first joint training session on the pitch at Säbener Straße is scheduled for Wednesday (15.30 pm).

As traditionally in the summer - especially after major tournaments - the Munich team must initially do without several stars. Among them are above all the players who were in action at the EURO; first and foremost Harry Kane from the finalist England. German national team captains like Manuel Neuer also still have longer vacation, as well as foreign national players like Matthijs de Ligt. Whether the Dutchman will return to Munich at all is open: The defender could reportedly join Manchester United in England instead.

Some Bayern players like Eric Dier, Serge Gnabry, Raphael Guerreiro, Sven Ulreich or Bryan Zaragoza have already joined training earlier than scheduled. Trainer Kompany also inspected the places at Säbener Straße on Friday and chatted briefly with the present professionals - on Wednesday, the Belgian ex-pro will take command for the first time.

After the initial days in Munich, the team will travel to a three-day training camp at Tegernsee from the 22nd to 24th July, where a first test match against FC Rottach-Egern awaits at the end. On the 28th of July, there is a friendly match against 1. FC Düren, followed by a trip to South Korea from the 31st of July to the 5th of August.

The Bundesliga champions will begin their mandatory league game against SSV Ulm in the DFB-Pokal on the 16th of August.
