Lower Franconia - Ball press and field on fire - 200,000 Euro damage
A straw bale press caught fire on a field in Dingolshausen (District Schweinfurt). The damage caused was approximately 200,000 Euro, as the police reported. The cause of the fire was reportedly a technical defect. The fire spread to the field in the afternoon on a Monday. As a result, about 2,500 square meters burned down. The flames could eventually be extinguished by the fire department.
The straw bale press incident happened in the district of Swneinfurt, located in Lower Franconia. Despite being in a primarily agricultural region, the fire spread rapidly, causing significant damage to nearby crops in Bavaria.
