Unlawful activity or misconduct - Attention turns to key witness in Christian B.'s court case.

A crucial figure in the legal battle against Christian B., another suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, is back under examination. At the Braunschweig Court, the questioning of the 53-year-old man is slated to continue today.

Approximately two months ago, the man had already testified about two rape videos where he claims to have identified the accused. The crux of the rest of the inquisition revolves around the defense's right to question. The reliability of the witness might be a focal point here.

Charge: Sexual assaults and child abuse

Christian B., 47, is charged with three rapes and two instances of child sexual abuse in Portugal in the Braunschweig trial. He is accused of violating an elderly Portuguese women in her vacation home, filming the act.

Simultaneously, he is alleged to have sexually assaulted a minor by binding her to a wooden post in his previous abode, beating her, and compelling her to engage in oral sex. Both victims' identities remain unknown.

Since the defendant was incarcerated in 2006 for fuel theft, the witness asserted in Braunschweig in early March that he had stolen from him. He confirms stealing a car, fuel, and video cameras with films. In addition to numerous party and tourist items, the witness claims to have viewed scenes of the elderly woman and girl on the videos.

"He looked into the camera"

The elderly woman in the witness's recollection was described as being bound on the bed, shrieking at the masked man. They assert he beat her. The witness swears that he recognized the man as he removed his condom and the sound of a toilet flushing could be heard.

As the video nears its conclusion, the man is said to have sat on the bed and removed his mask. "You could see him; he looked into the camera," asserted the witness, looking at the defendant. Subsequently, in the footage, he is claimed to have pressed a pillow on the victim's head, causing the filming to halt.

In the second video, the bound girl is said to have called out to B.: "Hi Christian, you know what this is. This is a rape." The witness acknowledges later selling the cameras. Although can't divulge their whereabouts, he did show the videos in fragments to a friend. The 68-year-old also testified, signifying he recognized B. in both cases.
