At least 15 deaths and injured in landslides in Central China
During a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Central China, at least 15 people have been killed and six others injured. According to Chinese state television CCTV, a one-story house in the village of Yuelin, Hunan Province, was carried away by the landslide in the morning. The rescue efforts, involving around 700 people, are still ongoing.
In China, particularly during the summer months, there are regular landslides and floods.
At least one house in Hunan Province, specifically in Yuelin village, suffered significant damage due to the falling debris during the recent landslide. Despite the ongoing rescue operations in Central China, at least six individuals from the region have been reported injured in the incident. Moreover, the frequent occurrence of such incidents, like floods and landslides, has seen Central China's provinces, such as Hunan, preparing bags filled with essential supplies for potential evacuation needs.
