Deployment in Mittelfranken - Asylum accommodation after gunshots

After receiving a call about gunshot sounds, the police in Middle Franconia surrounded a residence for asylum seekers. Following the corresponding call from Uffenheim (Neustadt-Bad Windsheim district), which came in around 1:10 PM, special forces were also deployed, according to a police spokesperson. The spokesperson did not want to comment on how many officers were involved or if helicopters would assist in clarifying the situation.

The affected area was reportedly cordoned off. Motorists on the Bundesstraße 13 were asked to bypass the area.

The asylum seekers in the residence were temporarily relocated to emergency accommodation in Bavaria. Due to the ongoing situation, all asylum accommodation in Middle Franconia was put on high alert. The police in Baden-Württemberg have been informed and are ready to provide backup if needed. Despite the tense situation, regular police checks in Middle Franconian accommodation continue as usual.
