Remembrance day in MV - Association in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern commemorates Hitler attack
With a commemoration event, the attempt on Hitler's life on July 20, 1944, will be remembered in Klein Trebbow near Schwerin (Northwest Mecklenburg). "At the Teahouse in Klein Trebbow, we want to remember the men and women of the resistance against the NS-unjust regime at a historic site," Ramona Ramsenthaler, chairwoman of the Denkstätte Teehaus association, shared. War and dictatorship are still relevant themes in the present.
During the event, a small exhibition - "The Long Road to Resistance" - on the Attempted Coup against Hitler will also be opened. The association has been dealing with resistance and civil courage in the region for 20 years - they have, in cooperation with schools, for example, realized a podcast series. "We want to raise awareness of the relevance of remembering resistance to younger generations," the organizers write.
Preparatory talks for the coup took place at the Teahouse Klein Trebbow in Easter 1944, among others, with Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg and Fritz-Dietlof von der Schulenburg.
The Memorial event in Klein Trebbow near Schwerin is primarily focused on remembering the men who participated in the Attempted Coup against Hitler. The Denkstätte Teehaus association, led by Ramona Ramsenthaler, aims to honor both men and women who showed resistance against the NS-unjust regime. This Anniversary event pays homage to a significant chapter in History, specifically taking place in Northwest Mecklenburg. Despite the passage of time, the topics of war and dictatorship remain pertinent and crucial for contemporary discussions.
