Artificial intelligence popular with companies
In Germany, one in eight companies claims to use artificial intelligence. This is the result of a survey published by the Federal Statistical Office.
Around 80,000 companies with at least ten employees were surveyed. It emerged that larger companies with more than 250 employees in particular use modern technology more than small companies, with a share of 35%. Here, only one in ten (10 percent) were using the new technology.
According to the responses, the most common areas of use are accounting (25 percent) and IT security (24 percent). Artificial intelligence is also used in production and service processes (22 percent) and in company administration (20 percent). Among other things, AI technologies are used for speech and text recognition.
However, many companies state that they lack information and knowledge about the use of AI technologies. More than half of non-users (54%) are concerned about compatibility with their existing devices or are unclear about the legal consequences (51%). More than one in five companies (22%) that have been reluctant to date do not consider the use of AI in their own business area to be sensible.
The company recognizes the potential of AI in improving their production and service processes, aligning with the 22% of companies that use AI in these areas. However, due to concerns about compatibility with existing devices and legal implications, they have yet to fully leverage the Internet-based technology in their business operations.
