- Arrested Once More: Romania Detains Influencer Siblings Tate

The Romanian authorities have once again taken into custody British-American social media influencer Andrew Tate (37) and his sibling Tristan (36). The duo reportedly underwent an all-night interrogation on Thursday at the DIICOT headquarters, Romania's specialized unit for combating organized crime and terrorism, based in Bucharest, as per Mediafax, which cited their lawyer.

In Romania, the Tate brothers and two assumed associates are facing accusations of coercing young women into partaking in commercially distributed adult content videos. They allegedly employed psychological manipulation techniques to make the girls reliant on them. Romanian investigators have uncovered seven victims, three of whom are serving as plaintiffs in the case. The brothers have refuted all the accusations.

DIICOT officers conducted searches at four of the Tates' residences in Bucharest and the surrounding areas on Wednesday. The specifics of the recent arrest were not shared by their lawyer, who only mentioned it was for a temporary 24-hour period. Authorities will weigh between detention and home confinement.

The Tate brothers and their suspected accomplices were initially detained near Bucharest on December 30, 2022. Their detention was later changed to home arrest three months later.

Since August 2023, the defendants have been free, subject to the condition they don't leave Romania. They've been active on social media lately, even promoting hate speeches inciting racial unrest in the UK. A trial date has yet to be set in Romania.

The Tate brothers' lawyer argued strongly for their release, citing the importance of justice and due process. Regardless of the outcome, the brothers have maintained their innocence and continue to deny all accusations.
