Arrest made in Solingen stabbing incident

Authorities apprehended a person of interest in relation to the Solingen stabbing incident. This was disclosed by North Rhine-Westphalia's Interior Minister, Herbert Reul, during the ARD "Tagesthemen." Reul referred to him as a "serious suspect" who had been on the run all day.

As per reports from "Spiegel" and "Bild" newspapers, the individual surrendered to a police squad on Saturday evening. According to the sources, the suspect is a 26-year-old Syrian. There were reports of bloodstained attire, according to intelligence sources. "Bild" further reported that the suspect confessed to being the one they were searching for.

The police squad's apprehension of the suspect was a relief for the investigative team, as they had been looking for other potential accomplices in the case. Following his arrest, it was revealed that the suspect had several associates in the city.
