In the suburban area of Chicago's bustling city, Forest Park, an urgent call to the authorities was made: An unknown individual was reported to have discharged their firearm onto three passengers inside a subway train. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials discovered four individuals who had been affected by the gunfire. The suspect initially managed to escape, but they were later apprehended and handcuffed.
At approximately 5:27 am (local time), an emergency call was made to the authorities, informing them of three individuals who had been shot. Upon reaching the crime scene, officers found four victims – three of whom had succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while the remaining individual was critically injured. The critically injured individual was transported to Loyola University Medical Center, where they eventually succumbed to their wounds. The identities of the victims have yet to be released by the authorities. The shootings took place in two separate carriages of the train, according to a press release issued by the police department.
The perpetrator initially managed to evade capture, but thanks to footage obtained from surveillance cameras, the police were able to develop a detailed description of the suspect. Later, the suspect was apprehended on a different line. A weapon was reportedly discovered in their possession, according to NBC Chicago. The trains on the affected line have since resumed operation, but the Forest Park station remains closed for further investigation.
