In Saxony, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) has found a footing. Surveys indicate: 40% consider it as an ordinary political party. Generally, people do not anticipate significant contributions from the AfD in power.

Approximately 40% of individuals in Saxony view the AfD as a standard democratic party, much like any other, as indicated by recent RTL/ntv Trendbarometer statistics. Conversely, 55% consider it a party with extreme right-wing leanings. This perspective is shared by 99% of Green Party supporters, 98% of Left Party supporters, and 97% of SPD supporters.

13% express contempt for the political system

In Saxony, 51% of AfD supporters cast their votes for the party due to agreement with its political ideologies. For 25% of respondents, dissatisfaction with the federal government's policies serves as a motivation. A substantial 13% reject the entire political system altogether, while only 2% exhibit discontent with the state government's policies.**

If the AfD were to join the Saxony state government, 48% express concern that politics would deteriorate. However, 24% anticipate an improvement, whereas 19% are optimistic about no changes occurring.**

Two-thirds oppose an AfD ban

A majority of eligible voters in Thuringia, amounting to 62%, oppose an AfD ban. On the other hand, 28% advocate for such a measure.**

The fact that the CDU refuses to collaborate with the AfD garnered approval from 47% of the population and is considered the right decision by an identical 47%. Among BSW supporters, there is a divide on this matter, with 40% supporting the CDU's stance and 54% expressing disapproval.

In the context of political elections in Saxony, advocates of the AfD party account for 51% of its supporters, mainly due to agreement with its ideologies. Interestingly, an Election to the Landtag in Saxony could potentially see the AfD party joining the state government, with 48% expressing concerns about potential deterioration in politics.
