Apple Reveals macOS 15 Sequoia
This year's WWDC keynote saw a flurry of announcements, one of which was the imminent arrival of macOS 15, nicknamed macOS Sequoia. This upgrade promises to bring some exciting new features to your Mac, like a window snapping function and phone mirroring.
The window snapping feature is not completely new - third-party apps like Magnet have offered it before - but it's now a native function in the OS. To use it, simply drag an open app window to the edge or corner of your screen and you'll see a guide appear.
Another noteworthy addition is the iPhone mirroring feature. This expands on current Continuity features and enables you to display your iPhone's screen on your Mac. You'll be able to interact with your phone's apps and notifications, while your actual phone stays locked away in your pocket or bag.
Apple also highlighted several other features, including the option to replace backgrounds on FaceTime, a new password management app that's also making its way to iPhones and iPads, and significant enhancements to Safari, including website summaries and smart links to resources like TV shows or music.
Developers are in for a treat as well, with macOS Sequoia bringing some notable gaming upgrades. The Game Porting Toolkit 2 aims to make it simpler to transfer Windows games to Mac, featuring improved compatibility and debugging tools to catch any issues. What's more, popular games like Control, Sniper Elite 4, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and Assassin's Creed Shadows are making their way to macOS, most of which have been available on other platforms for quite a while.

macOS Sequoia is also getting some of the same features as iOS 18, such as curated hikes and walking routes in Apple Maps, as well as fun text effects in Messages to spice up your conversations.
If you're a developer, you can already test out macOS Sequoia with the developer beta available now, and a public beta will be out in July. The official launch is expected for the fall, so it's likely to be around September time if Apple sticks to its usual schedule.
WWDC keynote is still ongoing, so expect more details about this and other features to emerge soon. Stay tuned!
