Anticipated Encounter Between Russian Leader Putin and Iranian President Peshkian Scheduled for Friday

On a Friday, President Vladimir Putin of Russia and his Iranian counterpart, Massoud Peschian, convened in Turkmenistan. As per a Putin confidant, the discussion during the gathering on the edge of a multiparty event in Ashgabat's capital, would encompass various matters, including the "severely amplifying predicament in the Middle East." Moscow and Tehran have sustained a strong camaraderie.

The summit between Putin and Peschian, who assumed office in late July, coincides with Israel's anticipated reaction to Iran's most recent assault on Israel. Last week, Iran launched rockets at Israel straightaway for the second time within a half-year.

Iran is affiliated with the militia Hezbollah in Lebanon, which has been locked in escalating hostilities with Israel lately. Additionally, Tehran endorses the Palestinian organization Hamas, with whom Israel has been at conflict since Hamas waged a considerable assault from Israeli territory last year.

The European Union expressed concern over Russia and Iran's growing alignment, as the escalating tensions in the Middle East could potentially impact its regional interests. Recognizing the strong alliance between Moscow and Tehran, the European Union has been vocal about maintaining peace and stability in the region.
