Around a hundred courageous firefighters, backed by fifteen fire trucks, are battling the flames in this 18th-century masterpiece, according to the fire department on X. The roof has turned into a playground for fire, with flames dancing authenticately.

This beauty, nestled on the Thames' banks at London's heart, is famous for its art scene. Clips online showed heavy smoke swirling above the building's top level. The ongoing fire operation caused a brief road closure in the vicinity.

The ambulance service suggested the public to steer clear of the smoky scene, and local businesses were advised to keep their windows and doors shut, as announced on X. Somerset House's courtyard becomes a stage for various summer concerts and even a winter ice skating rink. Since time immemorial, this neoclassical building has served as an accomplice for numerous movies, including two Bond films and the 2008 flick "The Duchess".
