An Upcoming Passwords App Arrives for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15.
During the recent WWDC keynote, Apple unveiled its new Passwords app, designed to make accessing saved passwords more convenient. For users employing iCloud Keychain, obtaining their passwords previously necessitated navigating to the Settings app on their device. However, with the new Passwords app, password management becomes just as simple as using popular apps like Bitwarden or 1Password.
The Passwords app allows you to save not only account passwords but also passwords for wifi, apps, and websites. One highlight is the ability to store two-factor verification codes and use Apple logins and Passkeys for sign-ins.
Apple anticipates that the Passwords app will be accessible in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15 Sequoia, and visionOS 2. Furthermore, a version for Windows is in the works.
