Allegations are piling up: A high-ranking Ukrainian officer accuses a commander of misusing power and ineptitude. The military leader is said to be accountable for the deaths of more Ukrainian soldiers than any Russian commander.
A member of the Azov Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard has brought severe allegations against a military commander and urged the authorities to initiate investigations. It's also crucial to look into whether the commander is working with Russia in cahoots. "I've penned a letter to the state investigative bureau and demanded an investigation into a military commander who, in my estimation, is responsible for the deaths of more Ukrainian soldiers than any Russian commander," Stabs Chief Bohdan Krotewytsch stated on Telegram.
In his post, Krotewytsch accuses the commander of abusing power and incompetence. He's troubled by the fact that battalion and brigade commanders are being arrested for the loss of observation posts, while a guy who's responsible for the loss of entire regions, dozens of cities, and thousands of soldiers is being left uncharged. "This man is launching investigations against commanders who are making progress and not losing ground, but he's not launching internal investigations against himself."
The investigators confirmed receiving the complaint to the news agency Interfax Ukraine and the online portal Ukrainska Pravda. "We got it yesterday, and the investigators are working on it," the agency's press service stated. Neither Krotewytsch nor the investigative bureau revealed the commander's name.
Reportedly, it's General-Major Yuriy Sodol under scrutiny. He led the military group Donetsk last year. In February, the former marine corps commander was appointed as the new commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces.
