An Austrian Airlines plane has sustained damage from hail.

During a flight from Mallorca to Vienna, an Airbus aircraft suffered damage to its nose. Thankfully, all passengers sustained no injuries. The airline reported that the pilots couldn't detect the thunderstorm through their radar.

A Lufthansa-owned Austrian Airlines plane experienced significant damage during a flight due to hail. As the plane approached Vienna, an emergency call was made. Despite the damage, the flight landed safely on Sunday evening, according to the airline. All 173 passengers and 6 crew members were unharmed.

Since sharing the photo on the X platform, the Vienna Weather Center has revealed the affected Airbus A320 with its torn nose and shattered cockpit windows. The airline also reported that the aircraft had other damage to its coverings.

The plane had been traveling from Palma de Mallorca to Vienna when the crew failed to spot a threatening thunderstorm cell on their weather radar, reported AUA.
