Amanda Knox is found guilty in a defamation case.

Amanda Knox, who was exonerated of murder allegations, experienced a legal setback in Florence when a court upheld a previous defamation verdict. Nevertheless, this decision won't cause any immediate repercussions as she has already served her sentence.

Also referred to as "Foxy Knoxy" or "Foxy Knox," Knox, a 36-year-old American, faced more disappointment in an Italian court. The verdict in Florence upheld an earlier conviction. It involved her accusing an uninvolved bartender of slaughtering her British roommate in 2007.

Regardless of this hurdle, Knox won't have to return to prison because she has already completed her sentence. The former exchange student was visibly upset and tearfully expressed her sentiments, "I didn't anticipate this. I'm very disheartened," as she journeyed back to Italy for the trial. Knox resides in the US with her hubby and their two kids.

The murder of Meredith Kercher, a 21-year-old Brit, in Perugia, Italy in 2007 generated a significant amount of international attention. Knox, her roommate (a year younger than her), and her beau were initially viewed as prime suspects. Knox was penalized with a long prison stint and spent four years in jail. In 2015, both parties were cleared of murder charges. The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg subsequently nullified the defamation verdict, resulting in the current trial in Italy.

Knox's ambition of leaving this case behind her was not achieved. The true killer of Kercher remains unknown. A 20-year-old individual was convicted of being an accomplice to murder since his fingerprints were discovered at the crime scene. He is a free man now. The Amanda Knox saga later became the focus of numerous books, flicks, and a TV show.
