After the alleged murder of a 74-year-old in Herrsching at Ammersee, the police are still searching intensely nationwide for the perpetrator. Three days after the emergency call, the suspect was still on the run, a police spokesperson said. He provided no further details.

The man being hunted is said to have visited the senior at his detached house in the Muhlfeld district (Landkreis Starnberg) on a Friday evening, as it was reported. He is then said to have killed him. The senior's wife escaped to her neighbors' house and called the police from there. The suspect had meanwhile fled on foot and has been on the run since then.

After the discovery of a corpse at Ammersee: Police searching for traces

The police found the body of the senior in his house in the Muhlfeld district. Several officers then searched adjacent gardens and all escape routes. The Criminal Police, divers, and tracking dogs were involved in the search. Neighbors were also questioned.

The body of the 74-year-old was taken to the Munich Forensic Medicine Institute for examination. The police made no statements about the results of the autopsy - nor about a possible motive, a weapon, or the injuries of the deceased. The silence is due to investigative tactical reasons.

Additional police patrols were seen around Herrsching. A special investigation team with around 30 officers and officers from the Criminal Police is working on the case.
