Suspect on the run - Alleged murder at Ammersee - Suspect still at large
After the alleged murder of a 74-year-old in Herrsching at Ammersee, the police are still searching intensely nationwide for the perpetrator. Three days after the emergency call, the suspect was still on the run, a police spokesperson said. He declined to comment on further details.
The man wanted is suspected to have visited the senior's single-family house in the neighborhood of Mühlfeld (Landkreis Starnberg) on a Friday evening, as reported. He is then believed to have killed him. The senior's wife escaped to her neighbors' house and called the police from there. The suspect had meanwhile fled on foot and has been on the run since then.
The police found the senior's body in his house in the Mühlfeld district. Many officers searched nearby gardens and all escape routes. The Criminal Police, divers, and tracking dogs were involved in the search. Interviews were also conducted with neighbors.
The body of the 74-year-old was taken to the Munich Forensic Medicine Institute for examination. The police made no statements about the results of the autopsy - nor about a possible motive, a weapon, or the injuries of the deceased. The silence is due to investigative tactical reasons.
There were increased police patrols around Herrsching. A special investigation team with around 30 police officers and policewomen from the Kripo is working on the case.
