Alleged Gilgo Beach murderer Rex Heuermann faces another potential indictment for another killing.

Heuermann is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, a representative from the Suffolk County district attorney's office announced on Monday.

"An array of inquiries had to be conducted,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said at a press conference about unrelated matters. "On Thursday, you'll see the outcome of our investigation."

Heuermann, who was taken into custody in July, is currently facing charges related to the killings of four women whose bodies were discovered on Long Island's Gilgo Beach in 2010. The victims, collectively referred to as the "Gilgo Four," were a subset of the 11 sets of human remains found along Long Island's southern coast between 2010 and 2011. These discoveries prompted police to describe the investigation as one of the most significant homicide cases in the island's history.

The anticipated charge of another murder is reportedly linked to a scene of discovery of two bodies that took place over twenty years ago and a recent search of Heuermann's house in Massapequa Park, New York.

In May, a search warrant was executed at Heuermann's home, according to his estranged wife's legal counsel, Robert Macedonia, who confirmed the news to CNN.

Heuermann has denied guilt in the deaths of the "Gilgo Four," namely Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, Amber Costello and Maureen Brainard-Barnes.

He was previously indicted for three of these murders in the preceding year and then implicated in the fourth case involving Brainard-Barnes earlier this year. At his recent court appearance, Heuermann reiterated his innocence, his lawyer, Michael Brown, told reporters. "He said, 'I'm not guilty of these charges.' He's eager to fight these charges," Brown remarked following the hearing.
