All coming Google-Pixel-Smartphones leaked
Four weeks before the official presentation, a regulatory body's photos of all four upcoming Google-Pixel phones leak out. They reveal numerous details and confirm previous rumors about the devices' technical specifications.
On August 13, Google will present its new Pixel-phones. The most intriguing aspects will be their software and AI capabilities, as most technical data is already known. Recently, "Android Authority" published a large amount of photos and battery data. They apparently come from the Taiwanese regulatory body NCC, which licenses the devices. The images show nearly all details of the four devices and fit with previous leaks, which provide additional information about the upcoming Pixel fleet. This includes the possible prices of the smartphones.
The photos also confirm the new design of the devices. For instance, well-known leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer alias @Onleaks had already shown the designs on "91Mobiles" and "MySmartPrice" based on computer graphics.
Pixel 9
The Pixel 9 is likely to be Google's new entry-level model, replacing the A-class models from this year at least. Contrary to popular belief, this isn't a budget phone based on the rumored specifications. It is expected to be powered by Google's latest chip, Tensor G4, with 12 GB of RAM support.
According to @Onleaks, the smartphone measures 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 millimeters (mm) and features a 6.24-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz (Hz). A ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor is said to be integrated into the panel, reacting faster than the optical sensors of current devices.
Google might offer variants with 128 and 256 GB of Flash storage. The NCC images suggest that the Pixel 9's battery has approximately the same capacity as the Pixel 8's, around 4558 milliamperes-hours (mAh).
The device is expected to have two rear cameras, now in a new design. Their metal frames no longer extend beyond the smartphone's chassis, as the chassis now features a clear edge instead of being rounded.
The optically stabilized (OIS) wide-angle primary camera reportedly resolves images with 50 Megapixels (MP), using the same sensor as the Pixel 8. The ultra-wide-angle camera takes photos with up to 50 MP and is said to have a more powerful sensor. The front camera, according to leaks, is the same 12.5-MP unit as the Pixel 8, now with autofocus.
Pixel 9 Pro
The Pixel 9 Pro is rumored to measure 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm and feature a 6.34-inch 120-Hz display. The Tensor G4 chip is believed to be able to access 16 GB of RAM, and Google might offer a 512 GB Flash storage variant. The Pro's battery is said to have the same capacity as the standard model.
Besides the main and ultra-wide-angle cameras, the 9 Pro is expected to have a 50-MP telephoto camera (OIS). The front camera is also rumored to be new and resolve images with 50 MP.
The new Pro is likely to feature a temperature sensor, as well as Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology for data transfer and determining distances and directions to other UWB-enabled devices.
For the first time since the Pixel 4, Google is expected to offer a new XL-sized smartphone. It measures approximately 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm, features a 6.73 inch display, and comes with a battery of 4942 mAh. According to leaks, this XL model may be the only new Google device to offer a 1 Terabyte (TB) Flash-Storage variant. Apart from that, the known specifications are similar to those of the smaller model. It is believed that Google will provide exclusive features to the XL, making it a new flagship.
Fourthly, the second generation of the Pixel Fold, possibly named Pixel 9 Pro Fold, is unveiled. The thinner bezel stands out in the NZZ photos, along with the rearranged cameras on the back. They are no longer in a wide band in the middle, but in two units stacked in the left corner. The front camera in the internal screen has moved from the central position to the right corner of the panel. The fold seems to have a shallower crease than its predecessor, but this cannot be confirmed from the images.
The new Fold is reported to have the Tensor-G4-Chip with 16 GB of RAM, and Google offers two variants with 256 and 512 GB Flash-Storage. The foldable smartphone is expected to have three cameras on the back, similar to the other Pros. However, according to "Android Authority", the sensors may be smaller due to space constraints. The new Fold might have a main camera of 48 MP (OIS), a 10.5-MP telephoto camera (OIS), and an ultra-wide-angle camera of 12 MP. The two front cameras are expected to have a resolution of 10 MP.
If the leaked dimensions are accurate, the Fold has grown in size. The internal display is said to have expanded from 7.6 to 8.1 inches, and the external screen from 5.8 to 6.6 inches. According to "Android Authority", the Pixel Fold 9 Pro measures 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.27 mm when open and 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.54 mm when folded. This would make it longer but also thinner than the first generation.
Prices
A few days ago, the French portal Dealabs published possible Euro prices. The Pixel 9 is said to cost around 800 or 900 Euro. For the 9 Pro, the minimum price is reportedly 1100 Euro, for the 512 GB model 1330 Euro. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is predicted to cost at least 1200 Euro, and the 1 TB variant 1690 Euro. For the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the portal mentions prices of around 1900 and 2030 Euro.
The leaked photos from the Taiwanese regulatory body NCC further validate the authenticity of the design leaks by well-known leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer. These designs, first shared on websites like "91Mobiles" and "MySmartPrice," accurately depict the physical appearance of the Google Pixel 9 smartphones.
The widespread leak of Google Pixel phones' images and specifications on "Android Authority" follows months of rumors and speculations, adding more substance to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming Pixel lineup.
