Basketball - Alba obliges Center Williams from Ulm

Alba Berlin strengthens its roster for the new Basketball-Bundesliga season at the Center position. Trevion Williams, who is joining from league rival ratiopharm Ulm, was announced by Alba on Thursday. The 23-year-old American has signed a two-year contract.

"Trevion has many qualities as a player that fit us perfectly. He is an excellent passer and as a Center, very versatile in his playstyle," Alba's sports director Himar Ojeda is quoted in the statement, "we want to help him take the next step and further develop on EuroLeague level. With his talent, he has great potential as a top player, which is why we are very happy about his signing."

The 2.06 meter tall Williams was one of the strongest rebounders in the last Bundesliga season and in the Eurocup with 9.0 and 10.8 rebounds per game. He was selected to the Eurocup's team of the five best players. In the Pokal-Halbfinale against Alba, Williams scored 25 points as Ulm's top scorer and grabbed twelve rebounds, but could not prevent the loss.

Alba Berlin's addition of Trevion Williams from Ratiopharm Ulm will undoubtedly strengthen their Center position in the upcoming Basketball-Bundesliga season. Despite his strong performance against Alba Berlin in the Pokal-Halbfinale, scoring 25 points and grabbing twelve rebounds, Williams ultimately couldn't secure a victory for Ulm. Berлин's sports director, Himar Ojeda, is excited about the versatile and talented player, aiming to help him progress further on the EuroLeague level.
