## Climate activists glue themselves to runway at Cologne/Bonn Airport

Climate activists caused a disruption at Cologne/Bonn Airport by gluing themselves to a runway early in the morning, a police spokesperson said. The news came in around 10 am that the air traffic was running again at the airport, the activists had been removed from the runway by the police.

The group Last Generation reported that several activists had broken through a fence and glued themselves to the asphalt near the start and landing runways. Via the network X (formerly Twitter), the group shared that the action was part of an international protest campaign demanding an exit from fossil fuel energy sources by 2030. The protests were supposed to take place simultaneously at airports in over ten countries worldwide, it was reported.

The police are investigating the actions of the Climate activist group, Last Generation, who disrupted air traffic at Cologne/Bonn Airport by gluing themselves to the runway. Despite the disruption, air traffic has resumed following the removal of the activists.
