- After airport disruptions, raid on the last generation.

Police raids are underway at several airports in Germany, with officers searching the homes of members of the climate group "Last Generation" in Berlin, a police spokesman told the German Press Agency. According to "Last Generation," there are also raids in Freiburg, Halle, Leipzig, and Mannheim.

In total, police are searching the homes of "peaceful protesters" at eight locations in Germany and collecting DNA samples, the climate group said. The raids began at 6:30 AM, with officers "storming" the premises. The measures are being taken "at the request of the Frankfurt/Main public prosecutor's office," the Berlin police spokesman said, without providing further details. He referred inquiries to the prosecutor's office in Hesse.

The raids target eight members of "Last Generation" who participated in a disruption at Frankfurt Airport on July 25th. The climate activists' glue action on the runways temporarily shut down operations at the airport. Earlier police reports indicated that four men, two women, and two non-binary individuals aged between 20 and 44 years old were involved in the action.

The Berlin police spokesman confirmed that additional raids are also being conducted in Freiburg, Halle, Leipzig, and Mannheim, alongside the ones at the airports. Despite the disruptive glue action at Frankfurt Airport by "Last Generation" members, the police are collecting DNA samples from the peacefully protesting individuals involved.
