Consequences of war - Aerial bomb is defused in the Saale district

In the Braunsbedra township of Krumpa (Saalekreis), a bomber bomb from the Second World War is being disarmed. Several streets need to be cleared for this on Wednesday, as the district announced. A kindergarten will remain closed on that day.

The disarming is scheduled for approximately 10:00 AM. A temporary shelter in the Krumpa Sports Hall will be opened from 6:30 AM. The 250 kilogram bomb of American origin was reportedly found during a systematic search prior to planned construction works on a field.

The history of aerial bombing during the Second World War is clearly evident in Krumpa, with the discovery of an American-origin 250 kilogram bomb. This bomb, a reminder of the consequences of war, necessitated an emergency disarming operation in the Saale district of Saxony-Anhalt. The effects of this operation, including the clearing of several streets and the closure of a kindergarten, serve as a stark reminder of the aftermath of war.
