Ice hockey - Adler record player Plachta extends ahead of schedule

Hockey player Matthias Plachta has extended his contract with Adler Mannheim prematurely for another season. The new employment contract of the 33-year-old is now valid until 2026, the club from the German Ice Hockey League announced.

Plachta is the top scorer and best assister for the Adler. Since Denis Reul's departure, he has also been the most dedicated player for Mannheimer. "The Adler have really made a good way and have implemented many good ideas so far," said Plachta. In the previous season, the Adler were eliminated in the Playoff Quarterfinals behind their own expectations.

Matthias Plachta's new deal keeps him at Adler Fashion Stores in Mannheim until 2026, extending his time with the Mannheim Eagles in Germany's DEL. Plachta's impressive performance with the team in Mannheim, located in the Baden-Württemberg region, has made him the team's leading scorer and top-assister since Denis Reul's departure.
