Last Generation - Activists glue themselves to runway of Cologne/Bonn Airport

## Climate activists glue themselves to runway

Climate activists caused a disruption at Cologne/Bonn Airport. Three persons glued themselves early in the morning on a runway, as a spokesperson of the Cologne Police stated. The police are on site. It was initially unclear how long the air traffic would be disrupted.

Climate-Activists glue themselves to runway

The group Last Generation announced that several activists had broken through a fence and glued themselves to the asphalt near the start- and landing runways. Via the network X (formerly Twitter), the group reported that the action was part of an international protest campaign, which demands an exit from fossil energy carriers by 2030. The protest was supposed to take place simultaneously at airports in more than ten countries worldwide, it was stated.

The climate-related protest at Cologne/Bonn Airport significantly affected air transportation, causing disruptions for travellers. The police are actively managing the situation at Cologne/Bonn Airport's race track, where the activists glued themselves to the runway.
